Being a home Inspector in the Great Outdoors!

Well, there are a lot of reasons to like being a home inspector. One of the great ones is being out doors some of the time. If it’s raining, at least you know that you will not be out there for too long. But if it’s a sunny day, what a great feeling being up on the roof of a house overlooking the neighborhood! I love warm, sunny days . . . . . and absolutely hate cold and rainy days. This is a great time to be an inspector. The weather is great, tons of first time homebuyers are buying, and business is booming! I pitty the people that are cooped up in an office all day. Although once winter comes, I will envy them again! Oh well, lets enjoy the weather now, while it’s warm.

How Many Inspections Can Be Done In A Day?

People often ask me how many inspections can we do in a day. As a company, we can do 5 per day, with me doing 3 and my other inspector Brian doing 2. This is a lot for a two inspector firm and we are not able to keep this pace up continuously. Although on average we can, and usually do, around 15-18 inspections a week. This is not too bad although at the end of the week, we are definitely looking for a break! (more…)
